A U.T. Tyler Family
Todd Clifton is a native of Gladewater and graduate of Gladewater High School in 1978. He received a BBA from UT Tyler in 1981 majoring in marketing. He has been in the banking industry 28 years and is the President of Austin Bank in Gladewater.
Todd is married to Neta Wood Clifton and they have three children, Chris, Jessica, and Nick. Jessica is a 2006 UT Tyler graduate and attends medical school at Texas Tech. Nick is a freshman at UT Tyler and member of the Patriots baseball team. Chris is a UT Austin graduate and teaches at Nacogdoches High School.
Todd is past president of the Gladewater Rotary Club, Gladewater United Fund, Gladewater Economic Development Corporation and the Gladewater Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the board of the Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo and has coached youth baseball 17 years.

Melinda Hermanns
Melinda Hermanns graduated magna cum
laude from U.T. Tyler with her BSN in 1995, where she was a member of Sigma
Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Alpha Chi National
College Honor Society. In 1998, she followed up with her MSN and her
Nursing Education certificate in 2003.
She successfully defended her
dissertation entitled, “The Illness Experience of Persons with Parkinson’s
Disease” and graduated in May 2007 with her Ph.D. in Nursing from the
University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
She is currently working as a clinical
instructor and am the clinical coordinator of Mental health Nursing at U.T.
Tyler. She has been working at the University since 1998, where she
participates annually in the Alumni Chili Cook-off.
Melinda, her husband and two handsome
sons, 3 and 4 years, reside in Tyler.
